Community service

We're always ready to do our bit.

As a good corporate citizen, Gongs is always committed to giving back to the community it serves. Through the years since inception, we’ve donated many thousands of dollars worth of product, plaques and framed memorabilia to many organisations and ex-military/ex-service causes. We’ve donated web space, server access and web development, to deserving causes. Our community outreach program was developed to donate product and services to non-commercial organisations for fund-raising and other purposes.

During the checkout process we’ll be offering you an optional opportunity to collect a small amount – a tax deductible two dollars ($2.00) that is collected and forwarded to each of the nominated charities we endorse monthly.

Currently the charities are under consideration. In addition, we have a community outreach program, developed to donate product and services to non-commercial organisations for fund-raising and other purposes.

Who’s Eligible to Participate?

Due to high demand and the high cost of sponsorship, we are unable to sponsor product and/or services to every organisation that seeks our help, and so we’ve had to set some simple criteria at a minimum in order to qualify for participation.

  • Non-commercial or non-profit organisation with a genuine mission to assist serving or ex-service people and their families.
  • Must have a web site detailing the purpose of your organisation.
  • Must be willing to link to the Gongs web site in exchange for our contribution. Fair?

How to Participate?

Please contact us at cr**@go***.au about our Community Outreach and Fund-raising Sponsorship Program and provide as much information as possible. This will help speed up the decision making processes. If your organisation qualifies, we will be in touch to discuss your specific requirements. Please understand that we receive requests on a weekly basis and we do have a limited budget per organisation. We apologise in advance if your application is not successful, however you are more than welcome to submit multiple applications at any time in the future.

Deserving Causes

Stolen Medals: Sadly there are low-lifes in the general community who will stoop to stealing hard-won service medals. On many occasions, Australia-wide we have made offers to replace stolen or damaged medals of ex-service personnel and their families. Here’s just one instance that received press publicity. After Yvonne Bolton’s medals were stolen, we were privileged to help out.
